The research that we are currently performing upon the roman road De Italia in Hispanias/Item ab Asturica Tarracone includes the definition of its topographical and structural characteristics from an archaeological point of view. This work aims to present a new interpretation of the data traditionally employed, as well as to provide other interpretations, yet unpublished, obtained from archaeological prospecting and excavations. The results presented here correspond to those obtained from several archaeological excavations performed in the Roman road between the mansiones of Pertusa (Petrusa, Huesca) and Asturica Augusta (Astorga, León). After the analysis and comparison of the materials and structural techniques, it has been possible to identify the construction models and characteristic cross-sections of the via.
